We stayed at the Big4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort, a kids paradise with pools, waterpark, 2 playgrounds, 2 jumping pillows and smooth concrete road that’s great for riding bikes. We love this park! The sites are nice and big too.
We did a drive out to Cedar Falls, which unfortunately wasn’t flowing much at the time, but the kids enjoyed throwing rocks in the sun. Dave did the walk to the top of the falls.
There is a boardwalk called Bicentennial walkway, around to the Marina which is beautiful and pram friendly, we had breakfast at the cafe at the end.
The free Lagoon swimming area in Airlie is probably the best thing in town, our kids loved it there playing in the sand and water. We are in Crocodile and stinger area now so beach swimming is out. Right next to it is a playground and toilets.
For sunset, sitting on the Airlie Esplanade beach is lovely under the palm trees with fish and chips.
Airlie Beach is a nice little town, smaller than we imagined and is mostly a base for branching out to the Whitsunday Islands.
