The Currumbin wildlife sanctuary on the southern Gold Coast is such a great day out for young children, there’s free bird feeding right before it opens. A big selection of animals, feed the kangaroos, walk amongst the lemurs, get a photo with a koala (paid).
The shows are great too, there’s an interactive stage show, bird flight show, insect show, talks about various animals, you can even hold a snake! There’s also 3 playgrounds, cafe’s and a train to take you around the park when legs get tired (you can put your pram on a carriage at the back).
The wildlife hospital is one of the stops on the train and it worth a visit to see how they help injured wildlife.
We bought a yearly pass which is good value for returning over multiple days to see it all.
You also get free parking with a member pass, or it is $10 opposite the enterance, free parking can be found further away on the beachfront.
