I knew when we came to Coober Pedy that I’d love to stay underground, in a Dugout and I got my wish shortly after Mothers Day (pretty good present for a traveling mum!)
We chose Di’s Place, a beautiful 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom dugout home built in the 70’s. It has everything you need to walk right in and stay, linen, basic toiletries & kitchen items included. We loved the stone showers, spa bath cave and the polished wood everywhere, so cool. It was so nice to be able to spread out and lounge on the most comfortable sofa, watching Netflix. The washing machine was also appreciated!
There is room to park a caravan right outside the door and it’s one of the reasons we chose this Dugout, we could keep our van close by.
Di, the owner is lovely and lives next door if you need anything, this Dugout was her family home for 20 years and you can imagine how amazing it would have been raising a family here with all the hidy holes and nooks the kids would have played in.
We loved our 2 nights in the dugout, bucket list ✅
