We spent the day up at Kuranda, we took the Skyrail up and the train down. The Skyrail takes you up over Barrion Gorge, they make a stop on the way to change gondoliers, and you have time to view the waterfall before continuing up the mountain.
You then walk into the main street area, we had a picnic in the park near the information centre, there’s a playground there too.
We went into the butterfly sanctuary, it’s not cheap but it’s a pretty cool experience having butterflies land on you (except if you’re scared of them like me).
If the markets are on while you visit there’s heaps of stalls to visit, and get that end of day ice cream!
We boarded the historic train for our trip down the mountain and it was so unique. They stopped along the way to view waterfalls and tunnels, we passed through 16 tunnels! It is a long trip around 2 hours so bring snacks for the kids.
