Maryborough is a lovely town to wander through, plenty of history and beautiful parklands. We rode the replica steam train around the park, visited the Botanical Gardens and saw the Mary Poppins statue. Located on the corner of Kent and Richmond streets a statue of Mary Poppins stands proudly as recognition of Maryborough’s link with the famous nanny. PL Travers, the author was born Helen Lyndon Goff in Maryborough in 1899.
