We visited Tasmania in 2013 for 3 weeks, it was a road trip hopping between hotels with our then 11 month old with us. We were visiting in June and we had mostly overcast weather, but not too much rain, the puddles were frozen at Cradle Mountain though! We flew into Hobart and did a loop via the places below and back out of Hobart, our tip was 24 days.
Places we visited:
- Markets in Hobart
- Hobart Botanical Gardens
- Mt Wellington
- Tessellated pavement rock formations
- Port Arthur
- Tahune Airwalk
- Dover
- Hastings hot springs
- Launceston
- Launceston City Park (they had monkeys)
- Cradle Mountain
- Crater Lake to Dove Lake hike
- Devonport
- St Hellens
- Columba falls – St Helens
- Bay of Fires – Binalong bay
- Pub in the paddock (St Columbia Falls Hotel)
- Bicheno
- Bicheno blow hole
We will hopefully return to Tasmania with our van one day, I’ve heard great things about the free camping down there.
