While in Townsville we stayed at the Rowes Bay caravan park, opposite the beach & playgrounds. Once checked in we were straight in the pool, then cruised along the foreshore trying all the playgrounds, Dave borrowed an electric scooter, they’re everywhere here.
We checked out Cape Parrarenda where the old bunkers are scattered across the hill with a great view. Onto the free lagoon for swimming and relaxing under the palmtrees, just what we needed after the heat and dirt of the outback!
We enjoyed a lunch out at the Cowboys Leagues Club, beautiful meals with a playground/room for the kids to play, awesome. Harlan has been searching for a shark tooth necklace this trip and we found one here at the markets, he’s stoked.
To finish off the afternoon we headed up to the Castle Hill Lookout for a great view over the whole of Townsville and out to Magnetic Island.
