The next big Dinosaur tour was the Lark Quarry Dinosaur Stampede. A 1 1/2 hour drive out to the original site of the only known stampede footprints in the world.

This one section of rock was more impressive than the whole Age of Dinosaur museum. Don’t let the long drive deter you, it was SO worth it! It was a 45min tour by a great enthusiastic guide who explained the story behind what we were seeing.

The fossilised footprints are interpreted as a predator stalking and causing a stampede of around 150 two-legged dinosaurs.

They are clear and amazing to see in person leaving no doubt that dinosaurs roamed Australia 95 million years ago. The main WOW factor was these prints have not been moved, they are in their original position and the building has been built around it, most museums move their displays so it looses something. The lark quarry is amazing!
