Winton – QLD

Winton, the dinosaur capital of Australia. Our first stop in town was the big WINTON sign with the caravan. Next stop catching up on washing & the town pool! The heat in Winton was around 40 each day, not cooling much at night, so most of our exploring was done early in the morning and we spent the afternoons at the pool & waterpark (a gold coin donation for a family).

During our stay we visited the Age of Dinosaurs, Lark Quarry Stampede, musical fence, and Bladensburg Homestead.

Overall Winton is a safe and wonderful town to visit, it has a great friendly vibe and is easy to get around with plenty to see, we visited the Tattersall pub many times for meals, drinks and work. We stayed at the Tattersall Caravan park opposite the pub, there was no yahooing or loud behaviour through the town like I expected being near a pub, we loved Winton!
